In light of the COVID crisis in Sydney and surrounds and with the health and safety of attendees, performers, suppliers and staff in mind, we have made the difficult decision to postpone The Great Wizard’s Ball.
We look forward to a time when we can run this very magical event safely and will advise a new date as soon as we can.

Sydney hasn’t seen anything like it since the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Powerhouse in 2011! And it’s about time Australia’s biggest city got some magical love.
Quizzic Alley – Australia’s most magical store now in Drummoyne – is bringing the magic to you with The Great Wizard’s Ball, an evening of spell-binding enchantment and wickedly wizarding fun! It would be Ron to miss it!
We’re planning a THREE COURSE FEAST featuring some iconic culinary favourites straight out of the castle kitchen. And don’t forget Quizzic Alley’s very own QBrew, quaffed with delight by many a witch, wizard and magical creature. We’re adding some crazy magic to it…. watch out for the limited edition, one night only QBREW BLASTER!
After dinner and a brew, get down like a crazy elf to the LIVE BAND. There’ll also be some exciting live entertainment as well as NEARLY LEGLESS MICK, MC extraordinaire!
As if that isn’t enough… Dust off your wand and come dressed in your finest wizarding regalia or dress up as your favourite magical character. It’s a ball afterall so get dressed up to the 9¾ because there are some ravenclawesome PRIZES on offer.

NOT ONE BUT TWO BALLS
The main event gets off to a siriusly magical start at 7pm. However, there is an equally magical but earlier and shorter tea party for families and smaller witches, wizards and magical creatures (under 14) that starts at 3pm. Of course children over 14 can come along too but we strongly recommend they attend the evening ball instead.
Although much of the entertainment will be the same as the later ball, activities and acts have been scaled to suit a younger audience and a shorter time-frame. Also, afternoon-tea-style food will be served in an effort to offer families a more affordable option.

The venue
We’re leaving no philosopher’s stone unturned to create a magical, immersive great hall dining experience and Marrickville Town Hall with its amazing historical features is the perfect venue.
Bring some Galleons
Although much of what you will see is included, there will be some magical add-on activities and we ask you to consider making a gold coin donation for each. The people from The Kids Cancer Project will also be running a raffle so you’ll need to bring money for that.
Age restrictions
You must be 14 years or older to attend The Great Wizards’ Ball starting at 7pm and all minors MUST be accompanied by an adult. Minors WILL NOT be allowed entry to the ball without an accompanying adult. As alcohol will be served, proof of age may be required. The organisers are relying on adults to supervise minors to ensure the relevant laws, restrictions and licensing rules are respected and upheld.
All minors attending the earlier Great Wizards’ Tea Party at 3pm MUST be accompanied by an adult. Note that alcohol will be available at the bar but we ask accompanying parents and carers to drink responsibly.
